Dans ma thèse, qui a reçu le prix du jeune chercheur de l’Association des italianistes germanophones, j’ai analysé les récits italiens contemporains sur le travail depuis les années 2000, qui explorent des formes de travail situées en dehors du contexte industriel traditionnel — dans le secteur culturel, l’hôtellerie, la gestion ou les centres d’appels. Mon enquête portait sur la manière dont ces textes mettent en scène une forme renouvelée d’aliénation, ainsi que sur les dispositifs esthétiques mobilisés pour la représenter. Dans divers articles, je me suis également intéressée aux représentations du travail dans des œuvres littéraires et cinématographiques de langue allemande, française et anglaise, en portant plus récemment mon attention sur le XIXᵉ siècle. Mon approche se concentre sur les représentations de la subjectivité aliénée et sur les moyens stylistiques de la rendre perceptible, par exemple à travers la technique du discours indirect libre. Je m’intéresse également aux intersections entre travail et genre, telles que la perte de masculinité liée au chômage ou les liens entre prostitution et agency féminine.

My dissertation, which was awarded the Early Career Research Prize by the Association of German-Speaking Italianists, examined contemporary Italian labor narratives since the 2000s, focusing on forms of work beyond the traditional industrial context — in the cultural sector, hospitality, management, and call centers. My research investigated how these texts stage a renewed form of alienation, and the aesthetic strategies employed to convey it. In various articles, I have also explored representations of labor in German-, French-, and English-language literary and cinematic texts, with a more recent focus on the 19th century. My work emphasizes depictions of alienated subjectivity and the techniques used to render it perceptible, for example through free indirect discourse. I am also interested in the intersections of work and gender, such as the loss of masculinity through unemployment or the connection between prostitution and female agency.
