Francesco Sielo received a PhD in European Literature and Culture from the Scuola Normale Superiore (Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane – Florence) in 2015 and is currently a Senior Researcher in Contemporary Italian Literature at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli.” He has published two monographs on Eugenio Montale, entitled Montale anglista: il critico, il traduttore e la «fine del mondo» (2016) and L’«atroce morsura» del tempo. Le prose narrative di Montale (2018). He has examined literary representations of scientific and technological development in Animali, macchine, stranieri. L’identità umana in Primo Levi, Alvaro e Pasolini (2023) and has addressed representations of South Italy from a geo-/ecocritical perspective in Realismo e visionarietà. Napoli nella letteratura italiana del Novecento (2025), which brings together studies on authors such as Malaparte, Ortese, Ottieri, Prisco, and Rea.
