Brando Bonsanti is a PhD candidate in North American Literature at Roma Tre University. His current research examines the representation of labor in Italian American literature as a fundamental site of self-development and cultural negotiation. For this project, he has been awarded the Pietro “Pete” Panto Italian Diaspora Labor Dissertation Fellowship, established by the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute. He has also worked on the literature of 19th-century Italian-language newspapers in North America, publishing the article Il «Progresso Italo-Americano» e il suo pubblico: Un’analisi critica e letteraria (Forum Italicum, 2025).
